2009 kx250f hard to start and dies

Recommended Posts

My 2009 kx250f is hard to start when cold and once it gets started it will just die even when it is warm. Could this be piston/rings? It has low compresssion, burning oil etc so im pretty positive it needs new rings just not sure if this is the reason it wont stay running? It doesn't seem to be blowing much smoke either. The valves were adjusted 10 hours ago and last time i got 40 hours out of them so i don't think its anything to do with them. Something to do with the carby maybe? It is due for new piston and rings but i just want to get some advice. Do you think thats the reason? any other ideas?

Thanks
