they take off all the stuff you don't want, put on all the stuff

some of the stuff that is smog related, they can't change,

Robert M. Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values

yep. required reading.

"watch a craftsman whose work is excellent, and you will see that he is following

no one path. the work to be done determines his actions, and his actions affect

the work to be done, until the work is perfect at the moment he is at peace."

Did you let George ride it?

george let me ride it, eventually..... it's about there, the rekluse needs some

fiddling yet... it isn't uncoupling quite right.... he didn't want to snarf up the

rear knobbie before delivery, and was just thinking the clutch pack was wrung

tight and needed a little tweak to open it up... nope.. needs a bit of fiddling.

so i made some passes up and down the parking lot and blessed the knobbies,

but didn't loosen up the clutch pack.... this thing is gonna pull good.....

i'm turning over in my mind finding a new proud owner for the hayabusa, and

getting a set of supermoto DOT slicks for this.....

gear it really tall, and this thing would be wicked fun on ortega highway....

the 'busa won't bring all that much money, but i won't be tempted to go out

and get in trouble with it.... i don't need a 175 hp street bike with a lidar

detector, and danish lidar jamming... you turn on the ignition, and after the booting

up noises, a voice announces from under the seat "active countermeasures enabled"....

i think it's time reason took over.

Bike looks great, just need a new shirt.

you'll have to take that up with george, i'm not his fashion consultant.

it's pretty hard not to stand within 100' of the door to the shop and

not get some husky smeared on you.... at some point, the smithsonian

will come by and record for the permanent record, the last 40 years

of off road development in the US, one layer at a time. it's all there,

most all of it husky, however.

...So the BYOB stuff is done in CA now? Didn't know that (not that it matters I guess).

Pretty sure my 2013 520RS BYOB was totally done in Italy.

...thought it made more sense to do the BYOB at the factory in Italy??? (guess not).

Nice bike btw.
