Can I use the stock YZ front brake line with CRF M/C and caliper?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a used '09 CRF450 front brake assembly to upgrade the brakes on my '07 YZ250. I was hoping for a direct swap...

Unfortunately, the front brake line on the CRF unit has a worn spot (looks like it was rubbing on something) and the line is worn past the plastic coating and the line itself is exposed. I can't trust the thing obviously...

The question is: will my stock line work with the CRF components? I bought my bike used and was thinking about replacing the line anyway before I picked up the CRF assembly... Can I just buy an aftermarket YZ line instead of a CRF line (I like the blue or black over the red)? Best line for the money?

Also, does the routing change at all with the swap? Is the curved stock line holder still used on a CRF or aftermarket line?

Thanks in advance...

Yes, you can use the Yamaha line. Bolts right up.

Thanks! That's what I was hoping for...

I'll probably replace the stock line anyway since it is getting a bit beat. What brand lines are best for a replacement?
