Suzuki DRZ 400 E-2001- oil dipstick has broken off in frame

Recommended Posts

Hi, my 01 Suzuki DRZ 400e has the oil reservoir as part of the frame, now the metal dipstick has broken off inside the frame, any ideas on how to remove without stripping the entire bike? Anyone else experienced this issue?

Thanks

If the string/magnet thing doesn't work you can remove the frame drain plug and the fitting with the rubber hose/screen on it . Then fish it out from the bottom . Or don't worry about it , its not going anywhere ( or do anything ) unless you take it out .

this happened to me about a year or so ago. what i did was drain oil, remove screen and drain plug, used a small flashlight and a metal coat hanger to fish it out. pretty similar to whats already been said. at the time i just cleaned it up with sandpaper an brake cleaner then applied jb weld. never had any issues but after discovering a product called alumarod i cleaned away all the jb an fixed it in a way i could feel more confident about
