front sprocket blues....

Recommended Posts

so I purchased a new front sprocket for my xr650l and noticed that the new one does not have the seal on the back of the stock one did and I'm wondering if this is a problem or if I need to find a seal or maybe even an original replacement

You may want to do a search on front sprockets for the 650l. I think they even have something about them in the faq. The rubber piece is not a seal, it is a cushion for the chain....to keep down noise or to cushion the drive line...not sure which, but it isn't required. 99% of the people on here will tell you to get a sprocket from a xr650r, it has a wider footprint on the shaft and will protect your shaft from premature wear. Do a search, there is a ton of info on this.
