2000 cr 125 no SPARK

Recommended Posts

Well here is the story, bought a 2000 cr 125 last year from a guy who didn't ride it and left it in a barn. I put all new bearings in it, plenty of TLC, and rebuilt the forks. the piston and rings were good and fairly new.  Anyway, go to start it this spring and it fires and runs for about 30 seconds to a minutes then I hear something break on the inside.  Turns out the magnet for the stator came loose and hit the fly wheel. I bought a new stator, this one will run a headlight. so I put the new stator in, plug everything in, leave the light wires loose, and no spark.

I don't know where I went wrong.

How do i test the everything to start ruling parts out.

Do I need to get a light in there to complete the circuit?

Need help!!

Thanks in advance

If you don't either tape the wires or plug them in, they can ground out the ignition. Especially if they touch each other of the frame. Electrical tape will work for that. Just to make sure.
