Does this CRF250 deal sound decent.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am 14 stepping up from a CR85 and I have found a bike I am interested in but I think it sounds too good to be true.

It's a 2005 CRF250R for $2500 and it is about 50km from where I live.

The add says:
05 crf 250 serviced regularly air filter cleaned every ride rebuilt 12 hours ago hot rods crank and conrod, wiseco piston and rings, aftermarket cam, aftermarket pipe, fat bars, unbreakabe levers, brand new grips, bar risers, Lucas oil sticker kit on new plastics, gripper seat cover, new chain and sprockets, new tyres front and back, purple powder coated rims and white spoke protectors

All of this sounds amazing but do you think there may be something fishy about it as it is only $2500 looks really tidy but I cant be too sure.
Why would they want to sell it so cheap, especially after just rebuilding it.

If you could help me out that would be great.

$2500 is way too much for a 10 year old race bike.

Of course you're in AUS and stuff is much more expensive down under.

Agreed. I paid $2200 for my 05 (great year BTW) and it was on the original tires. Aus is a lot more expensive so I agree that this bike is cheap. Why guess? Take the bike to a shop for a survey inspection. They'll be able to tell you what you need to know. If your seller won't agree, blow him off, he's hiding something.

Us here can only guess.
