#^*&# Broke the diaphragm on my DRZ400S - Upgrade time!

Recommended Posts

Was tinkering again tonight to try to get the popping to go away and was putting it all back together... while reassembling the needle, I must have pushed the top plunger in too hard and snapped the legs on the inside that hold the needle plug in  :banghead:  cue them falling out, me cursing and punching things, then immediately shrugging and saying "Screw it, FCR time"

Problem is, I can't seem to find the TT Keihen 39mm FCR-MX carb kit anywhere on the shop. Looked around on Ebay and found http://www.ebay.com/itm/Keihin-FCR-MX-39-CARB-XR-KTM-LC4-DRZ-KLX-LTZ-DRZ400-RXC-/270525314892?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 but i'm not sure it has everything i need.

Could someone point me in the right direction for find everything i need for this? Sucks that i won't be able to ride it at all for a bit :(

Nevermind- found where it was in the TT store: https://www.thumpertalk.com/shop/DRZ400S-SM-FCR-MX-39mm-Conversion-Kit-INT-KEIHIN-DRZFCRMX39-p2006766611.html   and   https://www.thumpertalk.com/shop/DRZ400S-SM-FCR-MX-41mm-Conversion-Kit-INT-KEIHIN-DRZFCRMX41-INT-KEIHIN-DRZFCRMX41-p2006766612.html

New question though: Do i need the 39mm, or 41mm kit for my 434?  the 39mm says its for stock, while the 41mm says Big bore AND Stroker - call me stupid, but i'm not sure if this thing has a stroker kit on it.

What do I do?  :banghead:

Get the 39. A stroker would put you up at 462/470 cc. The 41 is only for bb/stroker/really hot cams supermoto bikes that will spend a lot of time near the rev limiter.

Ya 39fcr.

I have a 462 bb/stroker with my head modified. I'll be putting in my 39fcr next days off since I've been doing so much off roading the 41fcr is to much I get tired really fast riding with the extra power

Thanks guys.

Last question: Should I go ahead and get the JD jet kit? The town i'm in is at 1100ft ASL, and some mountains here go between 2500-3300 ASL. Would hate to have to order it again when i should have had it in the first place.

Also curious if the high clearance choke assembly is a must-have, or just one of those "nice to have" things.
