Yoshi RS-2 Exhaust, Does spark arrestor limit HP?

Recommended Posts

I've done the searches, and it seems some people are claiming there is a 3-4hp increase if I take the spark arrestor off? Others are claiming it's like 0.5hp difference.

I don't want it any louder, but if there's a 3-4hp difference, I'm willing to deal with the noise haha. What do you guys think?

Depends what you've done to your motor. Stock bike with 3x3 and jet kit maybe 1 hp, 470 stroker with all the goodies 3 to 4hp

Here is a comparison on a stock E model, a bit over 1hp with the MRD pipe, it would be less of a difference on most other pipes

Green= stock E pipe
Red = MRD PRO-Z with insert
Blue = MRD PRO-Z with No insert.

I have the standard FCR, 3x3, full rs2, and jet kit.

Whoever said a 3-4 hp gain by removing the spark arrester is a tool

Here is the thread I refer about a guy who claimed he dynoed 3hp more than with spark arrestor.
