Fuel Feed problem?

Recommended Posts

I just go the bike up and running after top end rebuild (bought it needing a rebuild...no seat time prior to rebuild) Finally go out and ride the bike, 10-15mins in the ride, the bike will choke out and die(sometimes back fire), it will not restart unless I wait at least 5mins. Then it will run for about 1-3mins...the longer I wait, the longer it runs.

Float height-9mm
Brand new jets (165, 42, 5th clip, 2 turns out)
Carb is not dirty
Flow from petcock is fine both in ON and RES
Acerbis Gas Cap (flows freely both directions)
New spark plug cap
new plug

2004 450EXC RFS

I am not having the greatest experience with my first KTM thus far!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen this before on here, it was the ignition pickup coil. It works correctly until it gets hot, then it stops working until it cools off. Search here and you'll find the thread (or maybe it was on KTM talk?).

I'll probably temp mount the gas tank and ride it until she dies, pull the plug cap and ck for spark. That would be a easy and quick way to see if its electrical.
