1974 ...ish..."TS 250", 2 stroke suzuki

Recommended Posts

Visiting my old mate, "Uncle ace".. He's got a number of road and track bikes and while visiting his shed the other day I spotted this up the back corner. "She'll start 2nd kick" he says. . Sure enough.. 2nd kick, she fired up.. pulled the front through 2nd and 3rd.... Beast!! Ran rough as guts initially, but before I knew it the carby was in pieces being cleaned, and she was back together in 10 minutes. Tore up his top paddock for half an hour, then wheeled it back to the dark corner of the shed, where she'll probably sit for another 40 years, only to start 2nd kick again for my grand kids. Classic!

The black engine and that particular style of clutch cover were used on the 1976 bikes.

From 1977 the TS250s changed a fair bit with the adoption of the reed valve induction and central exhaust port, which meant the frame changed from single to twin down tubes.

Found this page on how the bikes performed back in the day.
