03 KX125 Pipe question

Recommended Posts

Been looking for a new/great condition PC Works pipe for my 03 KX125. Only pipes I can find are beat to shit used ones and ebay stores selling 04+ pipes saying they fit the 03. The only difference I can see from pics is the mounting bracket on the top of the pipe. Anyone know if they fit? Or where I can get a proper 03 KX125 Works pipe? I dont believe PC makes them anymore.

03's have a mount on the stinger that the 04/05's do not have.  I modded an 03 pipe to fit my kids flattened 04 pipe.

I don't think theres a significant difference in porting from 03-05.  Its pretty much the same motor.  I used to have an 03 KX125 with an 05 cylinder on it.  Everything else was from the 03, including the Pro Circuit pipe.  Bike makes good power but signs off abruptly past the peak.

Dont want to spend $100 on a beat pipe, then $100 plus shipping from Nova Scotia to have it fixed. Id go with FMF but I already have an R304 Shorty and dont want to spend ~$400 for a whole new set up, seeing as I'm attempting to save for a truck. There are plenty of PC Platinum pipes out there for the 03 though. May have to go with one of those. Just like the look of the bare metal over nickel finish.

So pull the sticker off the can? Hell who cares, put an fmf sticker on the PC which you just pulled its original stickers off of, who's gonna know or care the difference :p

I will, and anyone who looks at the silencer. I want the bike to be proper. Not thrown together with mix-match parts and have it look like I just threw together whatever I could get my hands on.

That's an interesting perspective. I've got 3 pipes for my kx250 - fmf, pc, and stock but just 1 silencer, fmf. It doesn't bother me at all. Regardless of which pipe is on there I don't think the bike looks trashy or thrown together. The different pipes have different utility while silencers mostly perform about the same.

So, if the FMF pipe was better but the PC silencer was better, you'd willingly accept less performance just to have matching logos?

:excuseme:

Damn you would hate my gear if you think everything has to match...

It's called OCD.

I suffer from it too, but usually $ > OCD.

I know you're not being serious but, as someone with a spouse who has clinical OCD, I can assure they aren't the same thing. On the off chance you're curious this article on OCD is actually pretty good (in spite of being on the cracked.com comedy web site): http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-things-no-one-tells-you-about-having-ocd/

PC Silencer came on the bike when I bought it. Seeing how I'm a 17 year old with a part time job & going to school making about $100 a week while saving for a truck so I can get to work and go ride, I dont have money pouring out my ears to spend on things that are in great condition on the bike. The only things on my gear that match are the jersey and pants. The main point being that I dont have money to spend on a new silencer when that $120 could go to all new bearings, another top end or chain and sprockets. PC makes the most power but I'd rather have a full FMF set up, if that makes sense  :excuseme:  :smirk: Only trying to make it as nice as I can for the money I have because I plan on keeping it for a while. If it was a buy and sell for profit, i wouldnt touch anything parts wise over $175~$200

$65 shift strike loathing (Black, blue purple & red) jersey and pants, white $150 thor boots, $40 oakley  red/yellow/orange goggles, $200 blue leatt brace, $10 Thor purple & yellow gloves that are ripped, and a one industries gamma helmet I won. If I hadnt got these things on sale, I'd still be wearing my red/white fox 180 hand me down pants, work gloves, 8 year old HJC helmet, work boots and a multi coloured fox jersey from 2004. Some sales are awesome :p But I'm the kind of person that if I can get something matching for a little more I'll do it. But why buy an FMF when I can get a pc and have it match for the same price?  :excuseme:   Must be a bug in my system hahaha. Always had old, ratted out, used hand me down bikes and gear, so now that I've got the chance to have something nice, I wanna try my best to get it as nice and clean as I can and keep it that way.

If www.ronayers.com ships to Canada, just buy a new one from them.  $191.96, plus shipping to Canada.
