Just got a cool flat tracker. It has a Suzuki GN 400 engine, ported and flowed head, 10.5 : 1 piston. The 400cc is a little small to keep up with the 500s. Will a DR 500 barrel fit, what about piston manufacture? I cannot find much on this engine. The 400 and 500 both share a 88mm bore, with a stroke of 65.2mm and 82mm. It came with 2 extra engines. Can I put a 500 rod in one, with a 22.8mm spacer under the barrel and notch for clearence? Anyone out there done anything like this? I like the Suzuki. It is unique, very compact engine and is wet sump. Much more compact than a Yamaha 500.

Putting a longer con rod in will not increase stroke. To increase stoke length you need to increase crank throw, which will need a different crankshaft.
