Fork seals

Recommended Posts

I just redid my forks with new bushings and seals on my 2012 yz250f and after one race they are leaking, and yes I did use a seal bullet. But I have a set of new oil seals from a 03 rm125 that I was wondering if they could be used?

No different size , try oem seals or skf and make sure the bushes are not worn and no damage to fork sliders

What brand fork seal did you use. If they are red they are junk all balls/ msr seals. They are prone to leaking due to large manufacturing tolerances. I had some leak leaning against my work bench.

Replace with a quality seal either oem NOK or SKF seals.

+1 to SKF seals.

i've never tried all balls fork seals, but i tried to fix a leaky countershaft seal with their stuff once. it started leaking again after about 10 minutes. so i redid it with OEM, and it hasn't started leaking again in a couple years. maybe tells you something about all balls seal quality...
