Timing on cr500

Can anyone tell me the correct way to time a cr500 its a 88 model?

Line up the marks on the stator plate and the motor. Marks are in the 6 oclock position.

you don't have to worry about piston position unless you are using a PVL ignition or not using the key on the crank. For a stock ignition just line the marks up and it's good. If you advance it for more power plan on running race fuel.
