Honda Crf 250 counter balance shaft bearing removal

Recommended Posts

Hi looking for some help I'm part way through a rebuild on my honda crf250 2007. Can anyone tell me the best way to remove the counter balance shaft from the left hand crank case. I've tried chisels screw drivers everything the bearing is now destroyed.

Just remove the sprockets off the other end of the counterbalance shaft inside the right crankcase cover and the shaft will slide right out the left side...

If you're referring to the bearing, the best way to remove it is with a bearing removal tool.

Thanks for the reply. I must invest in one of these kits. I ended up using a dremal to grind it down and break it out. Prob not the best way to do it but with a steady hand it worked for me. ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1401824128.847020.jpg

Ohhh, you meant the bearing lol.  I got the bearing out of mine with no special tools by removing the counterbalance shaft and you can tap the bearing out from the backside with a punch through the open hole from right to left
