Engine ice?

Does it help I am using antifreeze right now and my bike gets real hot in the tight stuff will engine ice help how about if I mix it with water?

I started using it in my 450 sxf that I take in the woods every now and then and it seems better then with just 50/50 coolant.

engine ice is already mixed 50/50 with water. it's antifreeze pre-mixed 50/50 with water. it's propylene glycol instead of the more popular ethylene glycol. the main difference is that PG is less toxic/environmentally hazardous. as far as cooling, PG is not quite as efficient at it as EG.

Is it boiling out? If so my try a higher pressure rated cap. A 1.6 or 2 bar cap is a cheap and efficient way of raising the boiling point of your coolant.

I used engine ice once on my CBR1100XX which tended to run hot and I couldn't tell any difference at all. Pure water cools better than 50/50 antifreeze of any kind.

if you got that route (i do in summer), use distilled water (no minerals to build up and clog the tiny passages in the radiator) and add a little bit of water wetter (for corrosion protection and surfactant properties).

water is the best at absorbing and disipating heat but water boils at a much lower temp and bubbles do not transfer heat otherwise we would all still be on air cooled bikes.

This is why you need Water Wetter. It breaks down the surface tension of water and helps prohibit bubbles from forming.

I had a 2 degree drop in temp from old coolant to new with water wetter.

So...no. Use whatever.

If you constantly ride slow, tight stuff, play with jetting, check out better radiators, a fan, etc.

Higher pressure increases the waters boiling point.
