DRZ Rear Shock - Big Problem?

Recommended Posts

I finally got around to adjusting my rear suspension on my '07 SM - or attempting to.  In an effort to start from a blank slate, I decided i would turn my clickers all the way the way in, and return to stock, then go from there.  The problem I have is that while I can spin the big nut all the way to where it stops, the inner screw DOESN'T stop.  it spins and clicks as it moves past the little dot, but it never hits a point where it stops?  Any idea what might cause that and where'd I start with fixing it?

It sure seems that way - I don't know how that would have happened, but I am not the original owner.  however, if I use a screwdriver to spin the inner adjuster, it simply turns without ever reaching a "full in" state.

edit: to be more specific, it seems like the low speed adjuster is stripped.  So - is it safe to ride, and is it something that may be feasible for me to fix. If not - what are my other options?
