Old DR250 won't start.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have an old DR250 (about 25 years old) and it won't start and if it does start it doesn't run very well, it doesn't have very good compression either but I don't think this is the cause. The bike used to start and run very well but it gradually got harder to start and now it is nearly impossible to start. What do you think the cause is??

Cheers

Hi,

I have an '82 DR250 (European version).

If this is the same model ( 1982 -1989) I can give you all the expected multimeter readings for the CDi, Coil, Pickup and generator from the service manual.

that way you can see if anything has broken down.

Let me know

Hi bobgarty,

It is the same model that you have. It does have spark but it has very low compression and probably needs a carb clean. Do you know what size the piston rings are for its engine.

Cheers.
