1993 xr250l wiring help

Recommended Posts

I don't know why you would want to do that.  Dirt bikes have a stator with a separate winding for the ignition.  The 250L has a street bike electrical system with a powerful three phase stator.  The CDI unit operates on DC.

You can replace the battery with a capacitor, but why?

The three yellow wires from the stator go to the regulator/rectifier.  From the Reg/rec. the green wire ties into all the other green wires and goes to ground, the red/white wire feeds 12volts DC to charge the battery. The small black wire from the reg/rec is not needed.  After that, everything runs off the battery.
