Xt350 valve shims

I mixed up my shims.Do I want to start with thicker shims on exhaust or intake side.I have two 2.30 shims and two 2.45s?

mine has 2.25 for intake and one 2.15 and one 2.10 on exh side buy measurements to get it in spec.

The 245s tight for the small feeler so I'm thinking 2.20 might do it.

The goal is proper valve clearance, so no matter what the number is, you need to swap shims to be in the range for all four valves. Unless this was a very low mileage engine, you will no doubt need to get additional shims to get all four correct. Keep the extras, sooner or later, they will come in handy.

 

Put the numbers down towards the buckets, otherwise, the cam wipes the numbers off and you will have to buy a metric micrometer to find out what you have.

OK got a problem.It looks like the ex shims or the whole shim and buckets are turning while engine is running noticed circles on shims that weren't there before.
