I don't know if these are dumb question or not cuz you didn't put it in your original post but

Did you clean the carb?

Maybe a little more info might help you get your answer.

Have you broken something or is it just corroded?

You can soak out just about any corrosion problems

Carbs don't typically "go bad". Jets get plugged up and things get gummed up, which only takes a good dis-assembly and cleaning. It will save you a fortune. On a TTR it's a non pumper carb I believe, which means that there should be very few parts that move. ( throttle drum and slide) so as far as broken parts, there's really nothing to break. I'd take the thing apart, get some carb cleaner and an air hose and clean everything out and re-install. It doesn't take much to clog a jet and make a bike run like crap.

If you feel you must buy something just buy a new pilot jet, $5 bucks

I think it is at least worth a try than spending 300 on a new carb
