MX motor vs. Shifter kart motor

So..... what is the difference between a built motocross motor and a shifter kart motor?  I've seen kart motors get upwards of 40+ horsepower from the 125's!!

Porting and head design.  Karts make power in a very narrow RPM range.  They make a MX125 power spread look like a 4-stroke.

If I was to slap in an ex-shifter kart motor into my bike, how would the ride quality be like?  Can I smoke Ricky Carmichael with it?

A shifter Kart motor would suck in a dirt bike, as mentioned above.

I think what honda power really needs is a glow/nitro engine, preferably around 2.5cc

 

That way he can make maddogg volumetric efficiency, do hyper sick revs and have 2 stroke supreme power.

 

He'll be the envy of the whole track.

Well I had a throttle cable snap halfway through my ride today.... 

 

Really ruined the day.

So thats why you and mL are often on during the day. Usually TT wakes up about 10PM or later for me, when I assume folks are turning on their computers, checking emails etc.
