Exhaust question 2012 yz450f

Recommended Posts

Okay maybe this is a dumb question but I just ordered up my Dr.d full stainless exhaust system for my 2012 yz450. Question is can I just install it on my bike or do I need to tune the fuel injection in someway to compensate for the better air flow? Obviously on a carbureted bike you would re-jet after you installed a new exhaust and intake but what about these fuel injected bikes? I do have a GYTR tuner on hand as well in case I need to use that in some way. Thanks for the help guys.

In that case then how would you ever put any sort of maps on your ECU? If you need to tune the bike for exhaust then your stuck with that tune right? How would you ever program in a race map or woods map?

That's why off road riders use map switches on the bar.

Yamaha's stock ECU does not have multiple map options as far as I know.

You'd have to get a Bazzaz or a Dynatek if that is important

Getting it running right is the most important thing.

You can adjust to anything terrain if the motor is running well

Stock is usually lean on the bottom, and has too much advance, so it's jerky.

There is tons of info in the YZ forum
