How Do I remove the spring on this shock?

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am trying to swap to a softer spring, after removing the shock it looks a bit different than what I expected in terms of collars for sliding off and changing springs.

Do I just remove this screw, and the rest will come along?

All input appreciated, thanks!

You have to screw the preload collars lose (to the top) until the spring can move around 10mm.

Than you have to move the collar which sits on the cup at the bottom of your shock upwards.

You will notice a clip. Remove the clip and you will be able to remove the spring.

DO NOT losen any screws!!

Should probably be said that based off the condition the shock is in, the collar may be difficult to move.  You may have to use something to carefully apply upward force on the collar.

This. The collar is a two piece  part that hides the circlip. Basically like most other standard shocks.
