2015 NEW O-rings on the oil pump suction screen

So with KTM noting on their list of new changes for the 2015 SXF's "NEW O-rings on the oil pump suction screen for increased durability", should we all be upgrading our pump suction screen O-rings for durability reasons? I wonder what the deficiency in the current O-ring is. And is the increased durability, durability in the O-ring or durability in the engine as a whole!
