Shift Shaft Seal

Recommended Posts

I recently replaced a shift shaft seal and it doesn't seem to have sealed completely because i am still suffering from a slight leak from around the shift shaft. Should i just buy a new seal and try again or could there be something else causing this issue?

It could be leaking from the countershaft seal, not the shifter shaft seal. Clean all the oil/dirt off everything and see if that helps diagnose it, but if there's oil/dirt "above" the shifter shaft my best is the countershaft sealing system is leaking.

Is that the seal behind the sproket? Would i have to split cases to do that?

No, do a search, it's easy to repair any leaks there, just have to remove the sprocket and then sealing hardware and might as well replace the seal.
