Will bike fit in big samsonite bags?

Hi.

I might have to move to Europe and want to bring my bikes. (Yz125 and yz250)

Have anyone tried to fit a bike in bags? (Disassembled of course).

I heard of some crazy swede who brought the bike on an airplane in 3 bags. Not sure if it is true. But bikes are expensive in Europe.

If someone asks it is just motorcycle parts.

You would probably have to freight it to Europe.  The bikes disassembled and crated would cost quite a bit, but you'd probably save money to do that rather than sell them here and buy in Europe. 

 

But one question--why keep the 125 if you got a 250??  Haha just my opinion, just a question ?

Honestly I don't own the 250 yet but I have the 125. Plan is to have 2 bikes. I don't have any friends that ride (i know sad), so the extra bike is to get friends riding.

You can probably disassemble them and box them up, and ship them UPS for less than your plane ticket will cost you.

My company will pay for some space in a container. Bicycles seems ok but not motorbikes. So I need to pack everything in boxes and label them "aunt Anne's silverware".

Or maybe remove the engine and claim it is a bicycle ?

In most cases, all that is required is that you make sure there is no trace of gasoline or oil left in the engine or tank.
