Best lasting off-road tire?

Recommended Posts

Anybody put a lot of miles on a good tire that has held up? I've tried many tires they don't seem to last all that long for what you pay? Riding just about all terrain from log going roads to wet slippery rock and mud, your opinion or experience would be great thanks

IRC M5B is great in the sloppy stuff and they last forever, even if you occasionally ride on pavement.

General rule of thumb, if it wears a long time, it's not going to grip very well. And if it gets good grip, it's not going to wear very well. I've tried Maxxis ITs, wear like iron, but totally useless in anything but the driest of conditions. Only marginal on ledge rock, even when dry.

But I have ran across a front tire recently that does seem to do both wear and grip, from all places, Shinko. The F524, sticks like glue on the rocks, roots, mud and pea gravel we have locally, and after a 100 miles or so is showing no visible wear. May try a rear version on the YZ to see how it holds up.
