Yz250 gurus i need help

Recommended Posts

Hi im grant and am new to blogs and such but after reading some of your knowledge i was impressed.

I have a 2002 yz250f that is now in a quad frame, im using a tank off a later year but have noticed that the later year oil tank has an extra connection on the kick start side,

here are my questions should anyone wish to share any insight.

As the 2002 didnt have this connection on crank case is it just a question of blocking it off meaning the older engine only has one connection either side that went into old tank in frame.

There is also a small nipple on the the top of engine that connected to steel frame from memory is this just a breather or that the oil tank would connect to it

If anyone has worked on either or both could share some light id be very grateful

Thanks

Dry sump oil tank,

Ii think 've sussed the extra pipe on the oil tank, on the later years this returned to the clutch as the 2002 didn't have that il just blank it off.

My biggest question is the two nipples on top of the head

1 big 1 small

Is the small breather a breather for the oil system as being a dry sump it would need one or did the earlier model have a breather on tank in frame
