2012 ktm 250 xcw high elevation jetting

Recommended Posts

Going to Utah to do pauite trail system in September and riding 6-12,000 feet elevations and was hoping somebody could give me some good jetting specs for out there so I dont explode my bike. Any help greatly appreciated. Im currently running sea level jetting living in new jersey

Just a quick look at an owners manual suggests 3 sizes smaller on the main, 2 sizes leaner needle, same pilot, for 12k.

For 6k, 2 sizes on the main and 1 size leaner needle, same pilot. For no more info than you've given, I'd start here. It may be a little rich at 12k, but that's better than too lean.

Fine tune things once you get to Utah.

Get a SX head. It will run like a sick dog at 12000 ft

So I guess safest bet is go by manual? I also have a JD jet kit for bike but I never used it because I had a friend in my club hook me up with some spot on sea level NJ specs. Here is what IM running now....B8eg needle 2nd clip. 40 pilot... 170 main.. Air screw 1 1/4 to 1 1/2.
