2008 rmz250 HELP RACING SOON

Okay so my bike backfires bad and I know that cause the valves need shimmed but at the same time if I set the idle to where it should be to idle perfectly when I'm riding I'll get off the throttle and my bike will keep going for a couple seconds more. I recently lost the red aftermarket screw that went into the carb underneath I think it's a jetting needle? And my bike wants to die while it's running. But I can keep it going fine on a track. PLEASE HELP ME THANKS EVERYONE

Okay so the screw I was talking about is the fuel mixture screw. Could missing that be causing all of this?

Yes for sure the problem it's the air fuel mix screw had it fall out my 07 would not idle pop like hell only run have ass unless wfo

Okay that's great to hear! Won't cost much at all. Do you know how far it goes in? I think I jst didn't have it in enough and it vibrated out

I can't remember I have a 2013 now but I think I screwed it all the way in and backed it off to half But not real sure been a while. Sorry
