which year is this cr250?

97 was the first year for cr250's to have aluminum frames. This is right around a 90 like you stated..

for me it looks like model 90, becuase of plastics.

thanks

Take the VIN number off the frame. Punch it into any online VIN decoder (it's free). The year, make, model will be displayed...

It definitely is NOT a '97...

Is may be possible that the bike is 125 97?

Not possible....'97 125's had aluminum frame...

125's didn't go aluminum until 98.

Just look at the motor and pipe.. Defiantly not a 125 and the plastics are different. My guess is a 91

It looks like a 90-91. The tank & rad shrouds are unique to that era. The grey colored airbox was too. When it comes to advertising used bikes what's 5-7 years....?

It is definitely early 90's.

Ok thanks. Didn't know.

Hockey sticks...lol.

Another two things that give it away are:

1) the older HPP valve on the cylinder

2) the black plug on the swing arm to access the linkage.

Not sure what the guy was buying for a 97. Even the rear rim is an 18"!

HPP valves , airbox  Early 90s i'd say also.

Its a 90 or 91. HPP was used from 86-91.

Was this the case only with the 250's? Because I have a '99 cr-125 and it has HPP:

The 125's used the HPP power valve from 90-99.

I have a 90 cr250 and the plastics are the same so I'd say it's a 90 and the bike actually doesn't look that bad depending on what he's asking I'd scoop it up

Sometimes people just honestly don't know the year bike they have

Yes, just the 250.

Rear wheel is defiantly 87-88 from the looks at the rotor bolt pattern.

Forks look like the old 45mm showas, like others stated no newer than 91.
