DR 650

I am looking to buy a 2006 DR 650 in Alaska with 8,000 miles. it has no upgrades, and the only new thing it has on it is a new battery. It is on sale for $3,200.

 

The last motorcycle I used to ride daily was a 2001 CBR 600 F4I. I feel like its time for a change, I been looking at buying a supermoto type bike. I know the DR 650 isn't a high performance street bike and I'm ok with that because I am in Alaska. I am wanting a ride that I can have fun with on the highway/dirt roads. And maybe in the long run upgrade it with some supermoto parts.

 

So what I'm asking is with your experience with dual sport bike, is a 2006 DR 650 with 8,000 miles a good start for the Alaskan summers?

The are good bikes and reliable as long as you don't mind the extra weight .
