Yet another shim question! ((Tolerances))

Recommended Posts

OK   so Im fixing to shim my 2012 crf250r

Exhaust reads perfect.

The intake is a little off but still pretty close to .005  +-.001

left side is .004  right side is .006

Here is my question>>   Is it better for them to have more space .006 or less space .004??

Better to go looser as they get tighter over time.

Loser

Looser but still in spec of course

I always run intake at 0.004" so there's less impact on the valvetrain components. They will only close up if the intake valve coating wears off from dirt ingestion.
