Need help. I'm replacing the oring on the choke & both diaphragms (rebuilding the stock OEM carb)

Recommended Posts

I'm working on my 08 SM with the factory carb. My question is how is everyone removing the choke nut that secures it to the carb body? I'm guessing a super thin wall deep socket in 14mm with 1/4 drive? There is not much clearance.

When I pulled the choke knob out the BB or steel ball bearing popped out. How do I get this back in? It has a spring that holds it against the choke knob shaft or rod guide. The shaft has 3 tiny holes drilled into it (detent type holes) I can see a pressed in brass tab that may be an access hole to insert the ball & apply pressure to the spring while shoving in the choke knob shaft/guide???

When replacing the carb diagrams, micropiche # 15,41 (slide & accelerator pump) should the springs be replace at the same time? Don't they work together?
