No Spark

Recommended Posts

Got a 2001 CR250r bought used, The bikes mint looks brand new, while riding the bike gave out like it ran out of gas.

with the plug on the side of the motor its got no spark in efforts to have no down time I ordered up a stator, CDI, Ignition Module. Turns out stator is on back-ordered for another month, and I still have no spark with CDI and IM replaced.

I tried to test the resistance and got infinite ohms one side and 0 ohms on the other,

Is there another way to test the stator, Tried AC voltage and got 2 VAC on Blue/White wires.

Appreciate any help i'm no expert.

Just go over all your electrical and make sure everything is well connected and grounded. Maybe the coil? Maybe a wired burnt up while riding. Kill switches sometimes falls apart inside and creates a short. Just some ideas.

I checked all the wires and they are all good, checked the grounds and all are good,

What voltage should I have coming out of the stator?

Use an ohm meter to measure the resistance between the blue and white wires. It should be somewhere around 17 ohms.

Let us know what you get please.
