kx250 rev problem

Recommended Posts

I rejetted my kx250 with the JDjetting kit and when I took out to ride I noticed a few times that when in neutral and I give it a light 1/4 throttle rev it revs way higher than it should and holds there for a little. I know the cable isn't sticking because it revs higher than the actual throttle input and the slide snaps down smoothly. Could it be that the pilot jet in the jetting kit is too lean? Or maybe an air leak? I just cant really come up with a cause

Make sure everything is sealed between the airbox & intake. Spray something like WD-40, brake cleaner, or ether...fog these areas. If there's an air leak...you'll find it, in short order.
