150f pilot jet, need advise

Recommended Posts

After read every post about jetting this bike, I need some advise to figure out what is happening.

This is the situation: 2006 CRF150F, FMF Powercore 4 slip-on, uni foam filter, no airbox snorkel. 110 main jet, 2 shims under stock needle. Till here everything looks like any other post. Regarding to the pilot jet, the stock #40 seems to be too lean because it's hard to start when cold and needs to have more than 2 1/2 turns out of fuel screw. So I went for a #42 jet... cold start: GREAT AT FIRST SHOT! but after warm it up to adjust fuel properly with the procedure of the highest rpm at idle, I ended with the fuel screw fully closed.

This was very unexpected! Is it possible to be just in the middle of the two pilot jets? Do I missed something?

I would set it at 1/2 to 5/8 turns out and ride it and see how it runs. my 230f was set at 5/8 turns out from honda when new.
