Recommended Posts

While unloading the bike the other day it feel and the wheel got stuck in the wheel chocks and took all the wait of the bike so I put the bike on the stand and spun the front wheel I noticed it has a slight buckle, do I need to replace the wheel?

If so I've got a near new set of wheel lined up off 2014 ktm 350sxf will these fit my 2001 ktm? Like are the axels the same size ? I have never replaced wheels on my bikes so I have no idea when it comes new ones?

Thanks for any help guys I did seach but found no answer ..

They changed axle size.

So I wonder if its just a matter of changing bearings? Then use old axles.

This is a good question.

Also do you have a picture of the damaged wheel?

No I don't have a pic I can get one tomorrow if u like but the damage isn't noticeable it was only that I thought to jack the bike up and spin the wheel and I noticed a very slight buckle while running my hand down one side and spinning the wheel, I havent riden the bike like it yet to see how it rides..

It is such a slight buckle I might not even notice it but it is there and last thing I want is to have the bike unbalance in topgear and go down hard..

If its not visual in a close up picture, I'd say its OK to use.

Most of the rims I've had gotten bent, they were really noticeable.

I'd spin it and check for a wobble. If none is found. Its good to go.

If its a slight wobble, get wheel trued up at a shop.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you can use the 2014 wheel as long as you use the older spacers.

I'll give the bike a ride and see, I wouldn't mind replacing the wheels anyway cause its a cracking deal and they look awesome, I was going to replace my tires very soon anyway so it could be perfect but I don't want to commit Until I no these wheels will fit without much work..
