2005 yz125 shift stopper

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a used 2005 125 and was reading online that alot of people said that the shift stopper needed to be changed.  How important is this actually to do?  I couldnt find any recal from yamaha and would rather not take apart the whole clutch to get to the part if its not really necessary since im not super confident in doing all that.  Whats your opinion on this?

I did it to my 05 YZ 125 and it wasn't that hard. If it fails it causes some pretty serious problems so it's a good idea to change it. Mine was fine when I replaced it but my bike hadn't had a hard life before me either. If you don't have a good idea about the history, you're just taking chances.
