Oversized Rotor Question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I was wondering if i should get an oversized rotor for my 2012 rmz 450. I ride coal hill climbs and trail ride. I weigh 140lbs so i am not sure if the rotor will make a huge difference. I mean my rotor now stops me really good. but would the oversized make it much much better?

What are you trying to accomplish? If you want to brake later into corners, have better control and modulation and less risk brake fade then yes, I would go for it! I won't own a bike without a oversized front rotor now...

like im looking for overall stopping power.Being able to stop with ease when flying down steep enduro hills and column banks. will an oversized rotor make it easier for me to accomplish this goal though. i do not race and have no intentions to. if the rotor will not help that much then i will just save my money for the next top end i put in my bike.

Alright thanks Bdubb106 and Monk for the novel on the rotor itself.
