Will 06 250sx engine fit in a 04 300exc frame?

I am trying to find an engine for a 2004 KTM 300exc. Seem to be a tough engine to find. Will a 2006 KTM 250sx engine fit in the 2004 KTM 300exc frame?

the 2004 300 exc and the 2006 250 sx share the same engine cases so it should fit.  You may need the head stays for the 250 but my guess is everything else will bolt right up.

Thanks for the help fellas! Anyone have any idea of what other year model and size ktm motors will fit in the 04 frame? Most all 250 and 300 ktm motors look the same.

Do the bigger motor bikes not have the same difference as the smaller bikes with the different sized swingarm bolt/hole?

Im not sure on the swingarm changing on the 250-300 if it did at all, but the 04 was a new motor and the 06 is of the same generation. The 03 back is a different motor altogether.

04 was the first year to use the same stroke regardless of 250/300 and had the really small cylinder?
