Front Brakes

Recommended Posts

Can anybody tell me how to replace the piston and seal on the front caliper please . I have taken the caliper off and managed with a fight to get piston out .  Got new piston and seal but cannot get both in , does the seal go in first and then slide piston in or does piston go in first and then seal ?.

I tried piston first and tried to get seal in but cannot get seal down the side of piston into caliper  .

Any help Please .

Thanks

I haven't done it but should. Were you able to find a rebuild kit?

My manual says to soak the seal and boot in brake fluid for 15 minutes.

coat bore and piston in fluid.

Seal, then boot, then piston, twist piston when installing.

From Clymers, you should get a manual, like 20 bucks here.

Mike

Edit: this is for first gen KLR650
