AMA National East Hare Scramble, August 16th & 17th

Recommended Posts

August 16-17 the Athens Motorcycle Club is hosting an AMA National Hare Scramble. This will be at the corner of State Rt. 690 and State Rt. 550 in Amesville, NOT AT THE CLUB GROUNDS. Quads will be running on Saturday and bikes on Sunday with unique loops for each. Bikes will run 90% fresh single track and will only be on quad trail for about 1/2 mile. It will be spectator friendly with a nice open field section and two creek crossings within a few hundred feet of the parking area. A lot of hard work has went into putting on this event so please come support the AMC, the AMA and enjoy some of the best trail in the area!!

Update 8-12-14

I don't want to put a damper on peoples plans but I think everyone should know exactly where we stand on pit riding for this upcoming race before they make the trip.

Absolutely no spectator pit riding will be allowed. Competitors and authorized track staff will be the only off road vehicles permitted in the pit or track area. No spectator side by sides, atvs or pit bike riding. So, leave them at home.

Anyone that violates this rule will be asked to leave, no warnings, no refunds.

Now for the good news- Weather- we hope to get some rain Monday and Tuesday to settle the dust. The Wednesday through Sunday forecast is great.

Note- the parking/pit area is located on the Chadwell farm with the entrance on State Route 690. (Not at AMC Clubgrounds or Farley's)

Gates will open on Friday for overnight camping.

Adult admission is only $10 per day. Kids under 10 yrs will be $5. Camping is free (no fires please), no pit riding.

The little bit of rain we've had the last few days has settled the dust.  Trails are prime right now and the forecast looks great.
