Is This Enough?

Recommended Posts

Is this enough?  (rhetorical)

2013 YZ250, about 80hrs (62.5 documented about 20 not documented), only burn C12 and K2, woods rider, I'm not that fast, but I'm not that slow, GYTR FWW, Rekluse Core, changed the pilot to 1 smaller than stock (I forget the size), and changed the rear sprocket to a 51 - otherwise stock engine.

Gauge in spark plug hole, cold engine, WOT, kill switch killed.

Still will probably to a top end at 100 hrs.

Those 2 exhaust seals - are they one time use, or can they be reused?

I can wrench, but just in uncharted territory here.

The rubber o rings in the exhaust can be reused. Sometimes if theyre old, they leak when you break the seal. I usually put a little high temp silicone on them in there for insurance.

Thank you sir.

That may have to wait in case I damage/the seals are damamged beyond use.

This weekend is a work day where we ride and I need my bike.

If you are buying a top end gasket set, they usually come with the pipe o-rings anyway.

I pushed a piston on my 250 a bit this year, comp was good, piston looked good. When I pulled the jug I found two cracks starting to form by the intake ports. Better safe than sorry, learned my lesson, got lucky.

Glad you caught it in time.

How many hours were on it?

Yeah, 100 hrs and it's coming apart.

Had a little over 100 hours on it. I'm not a fast rider, but I guess I pushed it a little harder this year.

I'm riding a bit harder this year also - warped 2 maybe 3 drive plates of my Rekluse.

Just put a new clutch in mine too, didn't realize how warped my steels were. No  drag now.

Mine showed itself on a down hill.  I closed the throttle and the engine immediately died.

I caught myself just before I bump started it...
