Ktm smc 660 - engine is stuck

Recommended Posts

Hi, first post here - feel free to move if its posted in a wrong forum :-)

I have resealed my rocker cover, adjusted valves, changed oil+filter and coolant+hoses on my 2003 smc 660.

It was easy to start and felt mint for the first mile or two. Suddenly i heard a "tick tick tick" sound and i activated the clutch and pulled over. The bike stopped and now the engine is stuck!

Water and oil looks fine and there is no leaks.

Where to start now? Any ideas whats happend and what i done wrong?

Update:

I have f*cked upp when i adjusted my valves and forgot to tighten one of the setnuts on the exhaustvalve adjuster.

The nut got loose and fell down in the cranckcase, and ripped my chain.

The chain was still on the camsprocket and the crancksprocket. WIll undo the top later this week so i can check valves and piston.

Edit: Anyone seen an DIY for changing the timingchain on LC4? What do i have to take off to change the chain?

No, I have not started to take the engine apart. Will do it this weekend.

I have read the workshop manual for lc4 and see that i have to take off top, cylinder and left enginecover to change the chain.

Hopefully I will find the nut somwhere in the crankcase :)
