help a 4t newbie

Recommended Posts

I have a kx250f 2005 stock carb. Won't start. I took the carb off to clean it. Filthy BTW. Put it back on still nothing. My question is with the carburetor disassembled from the motor, but connected to the gas tank. If I hit the throttle I don't see a stream of fuel squirting out. should I not see fuel come out when I hit the throttle? If so what should I look at next?

Thanks mike.

Both thre diapgram and manual can ber gotten at your dealer or from one of the 1.000's of online vendors.

Electonic and non-oem manuals are illegal copies and not condoned by TT.,

Everything that you'll need all the numbers are the part numbers that you will need for your accelerator pump the other to are for a carb rebuild kit and an adjustable fuel screw.

I can start it but its not easy. I tried to do a leak down check. But with the decompreson mechanism it all leaks out the exhaust..... Anyway to shut that off for the test?

To my knowledge it's automatic so know you can turn it off. But it is a good idea to check you valve's (you can not get the proper jetting if you valve's are out of spec) do that while your waiting for the accelerator pump and (adjustable fuel screw if you don't already have one) You might be able to wait on the carb repair kit for the valve's being out of spec may be your problem. Here's a link that explains in detail some video's, read the comments in at the bottom of the video's as well.
