Bar Mount Question

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

My friend picked up a 05 Honda CRF450R and offered to sell me his Renthal TwinWall Bars for dirt cheap. The bike also has Renthal Bar Mounts which I would need as well, because I am running stock 7/8s. I got on the renthal website to do some research and was pretty confused by the different options I found.

I am pretty sure he has these mounts : http://www.renthal.com/shop/mx-products/handlebars/bar-mounts?product_id=2041

They say that they are 28.6mm with a 5mm c/w offset. What does c/w mean?

When I run the "fit my bike" selector, renthal says that I should run these on my 2010: http://www.renthal.com/shop/mx-products/handlebars/bar-mounts?product_id=2047

I think the most confusing part to me is that on their page (http://www.renthal.com/shop/mx-products/handlebars/bar-mounts) they say some of them are honda/kawasaki. I know one says that they are for the 08-10 Kawi's, but will any of them that say kawi fit? The only dimensional difference I notice on their chart is the stem on the 08-10 kawi is 9mm shorter than the ones for honda/kawi. Would the normal 47mm ones fit my 2010 that are suggested for the 38mm stem model?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

I would guess eventually they would fit... providing the bolt is the correct diameter. 9 MM is still 9 mm. may need washers to take up the longer bolt. but a longer bolt washered up is not as stong as the correct bolt. LOL

I just bought the 1-piece clamps from Ride Engineering for my 2012 kx450, they do have an offset option, but, on the kx the front and rear mounting holes have a different spacing, so I only have 2 of the 8 optional bar positions.

Basically measure the thickness of your top triple at mounting point, and see if the different bolt lengths will work.
