350SXF Piston Circlip Backwards

Recommended Posts

Has anyone dealt with a backwards wrist-pin circlip on a KTM? The circlip turns up at the top of the "C" and fits into a hole at 12 O'Clock. The open part of the "C" is supposed to face left, where you can get something under the relief to remove the clip. I put mine in to the right, before looking at the book and I'm trying to decide if it's okay to run it that way. Has anyone ever seen this? I don't think I can remove it without runing the circlip and possibly the piston.  :banghead:

Yes Kevin I know what you are talking about. I have fitted a piston to a 350exc, it had the same style of cir clip. I think you are good to run it as is, as you say it will be difficult to remove, wait till next piston replacement then it won't matter if you damage it.

Cheers
